II Central Asian International Quality Forum on Quality Assurance in Education

On October 16, 2018 the annual Central Asian international quality forum on quality assurance in education started its work.  The meeting was organized by the Independent Agency for Accreditation and Rating (IAAR), Kazakhstan. The event became a good tradition and met a great interest from international associations and quality assurance agencies.  

The II Central Asian Forum on Quality Assurance in Education gathered over 200 experts from Europe and Central Asia, Russia and the post-Soviet countries at the Nazarbayev Center. Senators and deputies, vice-ministers of Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan, representatives of the Ministry of Education and Science, Presidents of EQAR and ENQA, leaders of accreditation bodies and universities’ representatives - all together determined the tools and procedures in quality assurance of education.

The Forum main goal is to create an international dialogue for discussing and sharing best practices:

  • to develop a quality assurance, accreditation and rating research system;
  • to enhance cooperation with international networks and foreign agencies promoting the development of quality culture and the professional community formation;
  • to improve the quality of education, curricula and students’ training paths according to international standards.

During the event L. Izmaylova, NAA’s Director, delivered a presentation "Harmonization of the regulatory framework in the field of accreditation as a prerequisite for successful interaction in improving the quality of higher education in the region".
